So, what is AAT?To put it simply, Aroma Acupoint Therapy, or AAT, involves utilizing essential oils to activate acupuncture points and meridians. Developed by Peter Holmes, LAc, MH and Tiffany Carole Pollard, MS, LAc, EAMP, this gentle modality draws wisdom from Traditional Chinese, Greek and Auyervedic medicine to address imbalances in the energetic systems of the body.
During an AAT treatment a selection of pure essential oils is applied to a specific series of acupoints. A single drop of oil is gently held on each point to foster an energetic shift. These oils and acupoints have been carefully selected to create a resonance between the two. By pairing the indications and functions of both essential oil and acupoint, the body's response can be magnified and is typically more significant than with either method alone. Because Aroma Acupoint Therapy employs only essential oils, it is well suited to those with an aversion to needles or sensitive systems. However, AAT can also be a powerful compliment to acupuncture treatments and other bodywork. For more information on AAT, its origins, and its founders please visit Peter's site here and Tiffany's site here. Both also offer a lovely selection of truly beautiful essential oils. |
A little about me...
For years I have been on the receiving end of modalities in Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture, herbs, and Aroma Acupoint Therapy. My experience has been one of amazing discovery. Every treatment is different, filled with magic, and I continue to be amazed by the power contained in the wisdom of these practices. As I started to explore how I could share these beautiful experiences with others I was led to AAT. In October of 2017, I completed my Level I AAT certification in NYC with Tiffany Pollard Carole, MS, LAc, EAMP and Christine Nichols, LAc. In November I returned to NYC to complete my Level II AAT certification with Peter Holmes, LAc, MH. Currently, I am pursuing certification in Aromatherapy, exploring the subject through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Auyerveda. This is just the beginning of my journey as I seek knowledge of essential oils, ancient wisdoms, and the pairing of the two. Stay tuned...
Away from the table I enjoy all things beautiful, whether it be a work of fine art, the wonders of nature, music that moves, sharing an incredible meal, or the sweet sounds of my children's laughter.

Please note: I am certified in the practice of Aroma Acupoint Therapy. I am not a medical professional and the use of essential oils and aromatherapy is not a licensed practice in the United States. AAT, and its use of essential oils and aromatherapy, is a complementary holistic therapy and not intended to treat, diagnose, and/or cure any medical issues. Always seek the advice of your own Medical Provider and/or Mental Health Provider regarding any questions or concerns you have about your specific health or any medications, herbs or supplements you are currently taking. Though generally considered safe, some individuals could experience adverse responses to the topical use of essential oils including, but not limited to, allergic reaction, skin sensitization, and skin irritation. While the oils selected for AAT are generally free from contraindications, essential oils should be used with care. Essential oils are very concentrated substances and some of them have contraindications. Before requesting an AAT treatment, either for physical or energy purpose, make sure to research potential contraindications in reference books or by consulting a professional aromatherapist.
